Here is part one of my freelance story.
What motivates you and helps you to keep going in your business?
I need income and want more flexibility while doing something I like.
What’s your personality type?
Myers Briggs is INFP. Enneagram 4. I’m very introverted. But the most important thing is that I’m neurodivergent, which affects everything, like thinking, motivation, and work style.
What’s on your personal bucket list?
My list changes all the time. Right now, I want to visit Greece. I would love to move out of the US. Sometimes, I want to get a yoga teaching certification even though I have never wanted to teach yoga. I have a lot of interests and little time to pursue things, so I have a long list. Right now, I would love a month of rest.
What are some of the goals you’d like to achieve in the next 5 years? What direction would you like to take your business in? What projects have been on your “When I have time” list? Maybe you want to write a book, host a retreat, or start a podcast.
I would love to make at least $60 – $65k annually (gross income) so I can quit working for other people. I would love to sell unique, valuable digital products. I go back and forth about writing a book. I know it won’t make me rich, but I would love to write a “real” book versus the 3 — books I have out there now. I have 25% of a —-book done and would love to get it out by the end of 2025 if I decide to pursue it. I want to go into astrology more and have unique reports that I created myself.
What does your life look like outside of business? What are you happy to share about your personal life?
Life outside of business – me working all the time. Or trying to figure things out. When I have free time, I like to be out in nature: at parks and at the beach. I’m into astrology & human design. I love to read and I follow true crime in my spare time. Favorite TV shows: are Big Brother, Survivor, Dexter, Pretty Little Liars, and Grey’s Anatomy. I love corgis. I’ve had two corgi mixes from the animal shelter. I have one now. He recently turned 11.
What core values or principles guide the way you run your business? What are the non-negotiables for you? What’s the motivation and purpose behind your business? What are the considerations or values that influence your day-to-day decisions?
Honesty and learning are my biggest core values. It shapes my website and my work. I won’t lie even when I know I should for marketing purposes. When I started my business, I had no non-negotiables, but now, I won’t accept low pay for services or, be on call or work too many hours. I won’t sacrifice my health for work anymore*.
*Except when they are the boss 100% like at my full-time and part time job.
Left some things that were more identifiable out.
