Getting raw thoughts out of my head, but people (in general) don’t like that. I also like to spread information (not teach) but I get bored doing that all the time. I have to have a personality. I have to “be myself.” And my whole life is full of people not approving of that.
But here I am.
What type of fiction have you read this past month?
Women’s Fiction – chosen from multiple choice. Don’t know what “women’s lit” is. About women but doesn’t fit into literary fiction??
What types of non-fiction books have you read this past month?
Didn’t finish any nonfiction. Probably will finish one today or tomorrow.
How many books have you read in the past month
Two
Bought/Acquire any books recently?
Yes, from libraries, Audible and Kindle Unlimited.
What am I reading now or plan to read next?
I don’t plan my reading because I tend to read whatever is available from the library, but I’m interested in nonfiction books about polyvagal theory.
Extra questions from the publishing company’s survey
How are you planning on approaching your holiday shopping this year?
(I hate holidays. It’s part of the worst of capitalism, but I’m going to leave my displeasure out of my answer.)
I don’t have to shop for many people, so I keep the people’s personality I shop for in mind. The small group of people I holiday shop for would rather buy something they want then to be surprised and not liking their gift so I’m doing gift cards with maybe a 2026 calendar or planner. Or I might ask for a list and get one thing from that.
Hobbies this past month: (multiple choice)
Exercised outside, shopped for books
What I’m reading for comfort (I don’t read for comfort but…)
Nice Girls Don’t Win: How I Burned It All Down to Claim My Power by Parvati Shallow (Didn’t expect to relate to this book so much. It’s been about a decade since I was a ‘good girl.’ Eff nice.)
Notice any book related trends?
I’ve noticed there are more books criticizing wealth being released.
On the topic of being a good girl, I yelled eff OFF to someone who decided to lay on their horn. It felt sooooooooooooooooo good. I said the real word, and I never swear in public, only in my head. I’ve never done that before. Honking is so rude. I’ve never done it, so I don’t have a lot of patience for those who aren’t about to get hit when they honk.
Like Parvati said, “it felt good to let off steam.”
