Worked about 13 or 14 hours on Monday and Tuesday and I’m paying for it. Unlike my employer or the government*.
*People are so clueless about the stingy government. Trust me; the government is just like the people (talking about the US only). I don’t know why people get surprised by that. We kind of voted them in, so shouldn’t they be like us?
They don’t give certain people anything. I should be able to get disability. I need Medicaid to get services and guess what I got. NOTHING. Even though I qualify and “deserve” services per the city’s medical/counseling team. That is what the government is doing. THEY have no problems with me and others like me suffering.
Also, the juries are never “my peers.” See how many innocent people in jail and/or death row. I would say I wouldn’t have convicted about 75% of those people based on what the JURY knew at the time. Not what I know now. They rarely tell them everything.
But people made up that “jury of your peers” crap. And a lot of the laws are crap too. “Reasonable person?” So, if the person isn’t reasonable…why are they getting judged as if they are? How can that make sense? Either stop using that phase or change the law.
One more thing about the “justice” system: How can it ever be fair when the prosecution has unlimited resources? I’ve seen upper middle-class people run out of money (especially for appeals). Anything involving money (almost everything in the US) can’t possibly be fair. But they keep using that word. SIGH.
Why can’t people just say it? Right now, Americans are extremely selfish as a group due to our economic system. See, I gave them an out and explained their behavior. When do they do that? Seriously, it is due to capitalism because capitalism can only “work” if people don’t mind exploiting and not helping others. Charities would be screwed if the government didn’t allow tax right offs for donations.
What was I saying? It doesn’t matter. Millions die every year due to stress and overworking. And please, don’t suggest everyone works nearly the same amount. The latest studies on who works the most made me ill. It’s too late to go there right now. And it’s been obvious to me for the past five years. Thanks for the late study, though, for the people who need stats.
This is worth the interruption. I’m listening to a book about slavery. I think it’s about a serial killer who killed slaves. Can’t remember why I wanted to read this book. But it’s so strange that an official from law enforcement is saying that a slave owner is working his slaves too much and won’t let them leave at night and not paying them enough ($20 per month was the law at the time in this part of Georgia). How is this not bizarre/? Who is telling these men to check on the conditions of slaves? Maybe we need to go back to 1867. Or was it 1869? Unfreakingbelievable. In Georgia!
It wasn’t all good. Black people who didn’t work went to jail. They wanted to keep Black people busy, so they had to stay with their owner for at least one year or whatever the owner wanted. They were under “on contract” Hmmm, keeping people busy to keep them quiet sounds familiar, but I can’t name WHY.
Sorry for the interruption. I have a lot to say about how what people said to slaves is similar to what they would say to anyone who is having multiple problems, or they feel is beneath them in some way. But I don’t have I’m for that right now. I’ll continue saying nothing.
So, the government is stingy. They do help SOME people. But Veterans aren’t a group they help. I have personal experience with that. (I’m not a vet.) They don’t give a shit about working class people with no kids. Poor people with no kids have a shot at some things. But no one can seem to grasp that single people pay more pay more for everything. I don’t really care about Sue down the street not knowing, but can the government get out a calculator?
Listening to Bill Clinton at the DNC. Sick of people complaining about things that can be fixed. Not just politicians but them too. The price of insulin would have never been that high in a humane country. “We lowered it.” Great. Why was it that high to begin with? Stingy corporations? Yep.
I’m sick of it. Capitalism has been slowly going downhill since the 90s. And what have people done about it? NOTHING. I probably won’t be alive to see what’s economically next. I know it won’t be socialism. Never. Anyone alive today doesn’t need to worry about the poor and working-class people having enough money to pay their bills. I can’t imagine that happening.
Someone should write a book or make a movie about everyone in the United States having the same amount of money. This is America’s nightmare. Hope the FBI doesn’t start tapping my phone. I’m talking about a FAKE STORY. Anyway…Not a documentary with a bunch of talking heads but a fiction movie or book. A drama. It might not be accurate. But I would love to see a fair movie about this. I have to check to see if there is an independent movie or book on this.
Bill Clinton just said, “I want you to be happy.” LOL. Apparently not, Bill. But thanks for um, saying nice words that don’t mean anything. To be content (don’t believe in happiness), I need my basic needs met. I want everyone to have that. It’s kind of a need. It’s the least……………………………..
I have to go to bed to be in moderate condition for my owners. (That includes my dog. Not just my employers).
STILL NOT AN INTELLECTUAL.
I think this entry was supposed to be more about health. Not sure. I can’t remember anything enough to keep anything in mind.
