You Work Your Life Away

Daily writing prompt
What are your thoughts on the concept of living a very long life?

I’d rather die. No, really.

Sometimes I’m envious of those who think living to 90 or 100 is a good idea, but my first reaction is: they are delusional, not thinking clearly, not seeing the data, etc. But if they have a good life and assume they will be healthy, then fine, they can desire to live a long life. It’s their life, not mine. Clearly.

But I still smirk every time someone mentions this because:

Hell, no.

I was trying to figure myself out in a world that made it clear—often quietly, sometimes brutally—that people like me were an inconvenience. Too slow. Too much. Too patterned. - Jaime Hoerricks, PhD

Not written by AI. “The majority” often thinks em dashes mean AI, which isn’t true, especially when it comes to autistic writers. I mostly use elispeses (…) and not em dashes. If AI starts using ellipses, I will be destroyed, but I will keep using them because they can’t steal everything or keep insisting there is only one way to be human.
