Turtle

Before I get to this entry, announcement: I’m going to skip a day. Not surprising. Too much going on. I’m behind with my part-time job, no sleep etc. I will probably be back on 11/11/25.

What is my life verse, quote, rule, guiding principle, or mission statement? Is there a motto that you’ve adopted for living a purposeful life? A quote that’s always resonated?

Always? That’s tough. You live. You learn. Don’t ask for the world on a plate is one that has resonated for most of my life. But I had to learn it. I would say I knew this to be true before I was 18. I used to struggle to remember it, but not anymore. I’m kinda over asking for stuff because I know I’m not getting it. I’m a fast learner.

And the Alana Davis song help cement this wisdom:

Let the moment last there’s no need to worry

We should be living for today or tomorrow anyway

And don’t ask for the world on a plate

Cause you just might get it

So, true. When I was younger, I used to be somewhat lucky (AKA Jupiter transit), so I would get more than I wanted. That stopped happening at around 25. So, it’s not something I really have to think about anymore. But sometimes I want to warn others.

“Your generation has been raised to expect answers to everything. And you’re just reaching the age where there are no answers, and you’re all going to be very angry about it, and demand more.” Boy was she right.

On how GenX got answers for Menopause

I hope this works for other things that doctors and other healthcare people are clueless about. Keep asking questions even though you will get pushback.

NBD Challenge

The November Brain Dump is a challenge I created for myself in 2025 because I’m notoriously bad at documenting things. This will get me to journal either here or in my private journal every day of November. There is no theme. On days when I have nothing to say, I’m tired, or my brain won’t work (common state of mind), I have a random list of prompts to choose from. Enjoy the NBD challenge. It’s no big deal.
