Be Proactive

What’s coming up soon? What could you start proactively processing through now?

Interesting question, but I can’t process something until it happens. Some people can probably do this since people are indeed different. But not me. And this seems like it could border on anxiety. I thought people thought anxiety was bad? Confusing.

Give this idea to some mental health “experts,” and they would have a field day with the DSM open for you.

But sometimes I think, should I start processing the death of a pet before it happens? Or a person if I know it’s imminent? I probably would because why wait? I can’t ignore something this big when I know it’s coming. But other things, I just sort of let happen.

I think proactively processing is better when you are sure of an event. Processing not having my car when it’s 50/50 isn’t beneficial. But I see nothing wrong with PLANNING for things. If I don’t have a car, how will I take my dog to the vet? Or take him to the park? Get to my hometown (3+ hours away)?

So, for me, it would be hard to start proactively processing most things. I think I have to clearly see something (or experience it) to start processing it. Which usually happens after the event. But it sounds good if you can do it.

NBD Challenge

The November Brain Dump is a challenge I created for myself in 2025 because I’m notoriously bad at documenting things. This will get me to journal either here or in my private journal every day of November. There is no theme. On days when I have nothing to say, I’m tired, or my brain won’t work (common state of mind), I have a random list of prompts to choose from. Enjoy the NBD challenge. It’s no big deal.
