Why People Prefer AI & Dogs

Daily writing prompt
How would you improve your community?

I’m new here so what community? I guess talking about my community will be less complicated than taking on the world. So, I’m going literal and talk about where I live. The easiest way is a list:

  • More parks or make the parks that exist larger
  • More mental health resources
  • People want more housing, but we have housing, so they need to figure out and fix the REAL problem. I get anxious looking at rent prices, so I’m not the one to research this. Buying a house here is expensive, but not as expensive as a bigger city. But I can’t afford 90% of the houses for sale. It’s probably closer to 95%.
  • The local place with a large body of water should be free. Not $7 a trip. (Being evasive on purpose – sorry).
  • More sidewalks so people can walk.
  • All stores that sell groceries must be open by 9AM on the weekend.
  • Quiet hours until noon in grocery stores. Or at least 11.
  • Get rid of the idea that breakfast is only for the morning.
  • All dogs should be allowed in libraries. (Not really but this one is a fantasy.)
  • Create a beach somehow. (Another fantasy).
  • A park with parking within walking distance of my house (sweet, sweet fantasy).

Basically, I have no idea. Why don’t we just blame everything on a lack of resources and call it a day? And I thought the United States was a rich country. LOL.

Yes, I know where the money is.

People like to criticize people who get therapy thought AI. (Should I look into this?) or are friendly to the AI bot. But people also criticize people who like their dog more than humans. Or grieve for weeks when their dogs die.

But that would involve THINKING. So, I shall supply receipts, instead.

From AI when asked to be honest about why people dislike autistic people (in general, not a specific person). AI gave a long answer. Here’s some of it:

Misjudging Social Differences: Autistic adults often communicate or express themselves in ways that differ from neurotypical norms. Some interpret this as rudeness, aloofness, or lack of capability, rather than understanding it as a different—but equally valid—way of being.

What non-autistic human would give this answer? Not even Nelson Mandela (RIP) would say this. Okay, maybe he would, but what about your neighbor or your boss? This is why some prefer AI. It’s better than a human IF you word your prompt the right way. I did tell it to be honest.

If you ask a typical question to a generic ChatGPT bot (or whatever it’s called) than you will get a fake human answer. Everyone loves autistic people. What’s your problem? haha.

Anyway, the answer was good. But nothing I didn’t already know, so I wasn’t 100% satisfied. But the answer is better than any human being would give.

So, if we want people to not like AI more than people, be best. Why am I obsessed with Melania’s phrase, “be best?” I know it’s silly. But “be better” is overused so BE BEST.

Be bester than AI. And a dog. My dog constantly judges me, but I still love him…because he just gives me a judgmental look and doesn’t SAY anything. He isn’t gossiping with the other dogs about how much I suck. As far as I know.

Conclusion from AI:

It’s unfair and exhausting for autistic individuals to face this. Negative perceptions aren’t a reflection of autistic people—they’re a reflection of the flaws and failings in how society values conformity over inclusion.
You deserve respect, understanding, and the right to exist unapologetically as yourself. It’s not an easy path, but the issue lies with ignorance, not with you or anyone else in the autistic community.

Don’t question why people don’t like other people. Maybe try, being best.
