Bad time for burnout.
Bad time for required overtime.
Bad time for working.
Bad time for existing.
But I’m here.

Books of the Week
Books I’ve finished in the last 15 or so days:
- Gone Forever: A True Story of Marriage, Betrayal, and Murder by Diane Fanning (nonfiction) – My rating: ★★★★ This was a reread. Not because it was so good, but I had it on my Kindle and didn’t remember I had already read it two years ago.
- Dead of Winter by Keri Beevis (fiction) – My rating: ★★★★ From my notes: Average but with good twists at the very end.
- The Monster in My Home: Surviving Evil by Sarah Stewart (nonfiction) – My rating: ★★★★ About domestic abuse.
- The Blue Hour by Paula Hawkins (fiction) – My rating: ★★★★ Really 3.75 stars. From my notes: The only thing I can relate to is the insomnia and liking being alone on an island. Great audiobook narration, but the overall story is flat.
- Older Adults and Autism Spectrum Conditions by Wenn Lawson (nonfiction) – My rating: ★★★★ Informative book. Got a ton of quotes (see below), but it’s hard to recommend this because of the way it’s written. It’s great for autistic adults of all ages, but most autistic adults aged 30+ would find this book helpful. The “problem” is that it’s written for people who care for older autistic adults and autistic adults, and it’s not clear about that. And it mentions retirement (as if…) a lot, but like I said, the topics aren’t exclusive to seniors.
Out of my nonfiction reading slump. Finally.
Quote of the Week
“There isn’t time for explanations or small talk. Even a small amount of ‘social’ can be overwhelming. It can cause my mind to feel as if it’s going to explode! Needing a clear beginning and a clear ending to social situations is important to helping us cope.”
— Wenn Lawson
