My dad bought me my first computer. It was a Commodore 64. Yes, I’m old. It was one of the best surprises of my life…to this day. I love it. I wanted it. I never asked for it. My mom and sister used it to. Funny, we never argued about time and using it. But it was used a lot among three people. Having a computer at home was somewhat rare…especially for low-income people like us.
Middle-class people were just getting computers but not using them 24/7, and as for the internet, it was “who wants to be on the internet?” It was only a place for geeks. Things have changed since then.
This picture doesn’t look like my Commodore. The monitor is similar, but the keyboard looks more like modern keyboards. Only a little thicker. The picture is definitely an older version, maybe from 1988. lol. I can’t remember the exact year I got mine. Maybe between 1993 and 1996? Unsure.
