Can’t miss the last day of the November Brain Dump challenge. It’s amazing how I feel slightly alive when I don’t have to work for the man. Even my part-time job had no work for the last few days. But I am slightly concerned about having less income. I’m not used to not having my PT income. I already canceled Hulu. Lol.
So, I have to work to death and be dead. I can no longer imagine having time to do what I want. And money to go places. To feel inspired and like I’m really living… Stop dreaming, back to reality.
To recap the past few days, list time for ease:

- It’s freezing outside and in my house. I should probably check my pipes. (You think?) I’m not planning on leaving my house for the next 45 days. But I already thought about a letter I wanted to mail within the next two weeks. That will be on hold unless it’s warmer. (Over 40 degrees at 9AM is a win during winter.) Can I really stay home this long? Probably not. But I like this challenge.
- Despite the cold, I had to leave my house on Saturday to pick up my medicine. Monday was the last day for pick up. I thought about leaving the medicine, but the sun came out, and it got to about 43 degrees around 10 AM. Plus, I got a 20-foot leash for my dog, and I wanted to test it. (When I ordered it, the average was about 55 degrees, so I wasn’t thinking about the cold.)
- Anyway, 20 feet is too long for my dog. I knew the small park would be empty, so people and other dogs aren’t the problem. Every park around here has water, usually a small manufactured lake. But there’s no wall or border around the water. So, my dog keeps walking to the edge, so I have to keep pulling on the leash, which won’t work 90% of the time. But he did get to run in the empty field with the longer leash. He seemed to enjoy the park, but he kept running back to me, as if he wanted to walk together.
- I spent time learning more astrology after another break. I feel behind in my class and don’t think I’m going to get the certificate. But I still have the class materials and can learn everything without getting a certificate.
- What I wrote about the astrology course in my journal this week: “Overall, this is a lot of info. It’s overwhelming. But it still feels learnable. But I keep taking breaks, which just prolongs things.”
- Feedback from my astrology homework noted that I lacked clarity (via Neptune) when buying my house. Yeah, no shock there, but I didn’t even talk much about Neptune in my homework, so I will spend time looking at that. But I spent weeks on this assignment, so I just want to move on. Most of the past homework assignments took 3 to 7 days.
- It felt good to go with the flow for the past few things. But I still have stuff to do, so I have to at least attempt to come up with a plan. No more FLOW.
November was easily the worst month of the last 6 months. Maybe of the year. I would have to read my journal to know, since I can’t remember anything in order. But the NBD challenge was one of the unexpected highlights.
Time for an end of the month recap.

- A Harvest of Innocence: The Untold Story of the West Memphis Three Murder Case by Tom McCarthy, Dan Stidham No rating yet. Will be done by the end oftoday. Probably 4 or 4.5 stars. Dusturbing case. I know a lot about the West Memphis Three but this is the 1st book I’ve read about this.
TV of the month (streaming)
Yes, I made sure to finish The Secret Wives of Mormon Wives before my Hulu subscription ends. No reunion since that hasn’t been filemd. (I assume. Didn’t check).
I discovered a great true crime show. Not for those bothered by physical violence. (I’m more bothered by emotional violence so true crime isn’t ‘too much’ for me unless there’s a lot of emotional stuff going on too.)
I hate the title because it’s overly dramatic and there’s other issues. But “Very Scary People” is so good. The first few seasons are about crimes many people already know about and are okay, but the most recent season is the best. I skipped a lot of popular serial killer episodes that I’m already familair with. It’s from HLN. Streaming on HBO and maybe Hulu or Disney too. I can’t keep up with what is streaming where.
Quote of the month
The system erases its role, then blames the person for the resulting wound.

The November Brain Dump is a challenge I created for myself in 2025 because I’m notoriously bad at documenting things. This will get me to journal either here or in my private journal every day of November. There is no theme. On days when I have nothing to say, I’m tired, or my brain won’t work (common state of mind), I have a random list of prompts to choose from. Enjoy the NBD challenge. It’s no big deal.
