This probably won’t be that interesting, but is my blog ever that interesting? Let’s be real. This is the rough draft of a plan. I’m trying a new way of planning since typical planning doesn’t work for me.
Backstory: I have a “business” but after severe burnout, it is now a hobby. It was successful for 2 or 3 years. Now in its 5th year, I’m not launching. I like blogging, so I still do. I occasionally create products. I think I sold fewer than 25 products this year. I don’t keep up with it, but I will know one day because of taxes.
I asked AI (Gemini through a Gem) to create a plan for me to launch one final mini-course, and then I will decide whether I want to keep this “business” going. Since I specifically asked for a bottom-up approach, the plan isn’t traditional or all that linear.

It’s not done with the plan because bottom up processing/planning isn’t done that way. Bottom up planning is done by direct observation and experience. But here’s what I need to write in my planner tomorrow and start doing:
Bottom-Up Action Plan: Communication Flow
- Share one quick, useful [redacted] keyword tip in a single, simple paragraph. Draft the subject line and one-paragraph body for the re-engagement email.
Bottom-Up Action Plan: Workshop Creation
- Stop the editing loop and focus only on completion. Finalize the script text for the next rest of the slides.
- Record a draft of the video (screen capture the slides) for the first 5 completed slides.
- Watch the 5-slide segment once. Any clear mismatch between what’s visually on the slide and the audio text? Any immediate, major errors?
End of the first few steps. As you can see pesky time stuff isn’t inncluded so people who rely on time (most people) wouldn’t find this helpful at all. Forgot to add that I personalized this for not only bottom up processors but also for people with time processing issues.
Gemini AI seems to be missing something though or it could be me. It gave me these steps in a very disjointed way and it’s not all there. Bottom up processing includes sometimes knowing the end but not always using that to plan. So, seeing all the steps in an orderly fashion would be helpful. But I guess seeing all the steps could be overwhelming for a person who thinks “bottom up” and could be demotivating.
Just because I’m all about flow, doesn’t mean I don’t need the steps. If this were a service, I would say, “You are the planner. Give me the steps. I find it hard to plan top down so that’s why I hired you.” I guess I want at least an overview. I need to SEE a loose roadmap. That’s what I’m trying to say.
What’s the point of writing one email and not knowing what comes next? That doesn’t feel complete to me. So, that’s a flaw of this plan. Just saying, do something without an explanation is not good for this type of planning. It’s the exact opposite. Didn’t see that coming so I will have to put that in the instructions.

And I may fix this Gem later to say “provide a roadmap once you get all your intro questions answered.” It’s not final. Just a roadmap. Maybe. But this is better than nothing so I will go with this for now.
Also, realizing that bottom-up planning can’t be outsourced as easily as top-down planning (the normal way). Of course not! But considering that, the Gemini Gem did a decent job. Thanks to some of my instructions since I built it. Just saying.
The November Brain Dump is a challenge I created for myself in 2025 because I’m notoriously bad at documenting things. This will get me to journal either here or in my private journal every day of November. There is no theme. On days when I have nothing to say, I’m tired, or my brain won’t work (common state of mind), I have a random list of prompts to choose from. Enjoy the NBD challenge. It’s no big deal.
