July Books & Things

I’m bad at naming posts. I know I’m supposed to use SEO in my titles. But that is so boring to me. I associate keywords with work. And this blog may be many things, but it’s not official work.

For some reason the book company sends out the survey mid-month, so for now, I will post book stuff during this time. There are a few unrelated book questions at the bottom.

What I read June 13 – July 13

(not really because I don’t do dates or time, but close enough)

What type of fiction have you read this past month?

thriller, women’s fiction. mystery

What types of non-fiction have you read this past month,

true crime

Where have you bought/acquire any books recently?

Google Play Store, Amazon, Net Galley, Library Platforms, Audible, Spotify

What am I reading now or plan to read next?

Reading Finding Grace by Loretta Rothschild and Speak to Me of Home by Jeanine Cummins. I’m bad at keeping up with new releases. When I’m done, I’ll just look at my TBR list and pick something. My next reads will probably be about restless leg syndrome and a beginner’s embroidery book. *Affiliate links to books.

How are you using AI platforms currently, if at all,

To create images, to interact, for long term project planning

Thinking about your recent experiences and the world over the past month, what 3 things has been top-of-mind for you?

social justice, my personal budget, my health

How are you finding comfort?

reading books, exercising, listening to music, time with pets, listening to podcasts, watching TV

What book related trends, if any, have you noticed on social media?

I’ve noticed people trying to hold authors accountable because they think they did something wrong. (I disagree with these tactics.) Today I watched a video about how some book influencers are promoting the overconsumption of books.

In the past month, what general trends (outside of books), if any, have you noticed on social media, in conversation, or elsewhere?

I think online harassment has gotten worse. It has always been bad, but it seems like people feel more justified in doing it. Now, they make a video and talk about the harassment, which feels like they are promoting it. It may seem like it’s worse now due to the economy and people doing whatever they can to make money.

Food/health – for some reason, more people are talking about protein. No idea why this started.

I’ve noticed that companies are reviving products from the 90s.
