Dangerous

Another reading survey. These are only supposed to take 10 minutes, and we get nothing in return. I would love to know how many people do these surveys every month with no incentive.

Doing this survey and then off to bed.

What am I doing more now than I did a month ago?

Remember, I don’t do time, so “a month ago” means…nothing. Picking from a list.

  • Watching TV (streaming)
  • Reading books
  • Watching movies
  • Following the news

What type of fiction have you been reading this past month?

Have to look that up.

  • thriller

What type of non-fiction?

  • memoir
  • true crime
  • health/wellness

What formats of books this past month?

  • audiobooks
  • ebooks

How many books have you read this past month?

Five

In the past month, how did you find books to read?

  • newsletters
  • Storygraph
  • online browsimg

  • Kindle Store
  • Online library
  • Audible
  • Spotify
  • Net Galley
  • Amazon

In which of the following ways, if any, have you engaged with the book community in the past month?

  • Signed up for the author’s newsletter
  • Wrote a review online
  • Researched the topic of the book further
  • Read reviews or discussions about the book

Are there any specific authors, book series, or new releases you are planning to explore?

I haven’t thought about it. But I will probably go to my Audible library. I mostly have true crime and biographies there like Mother’s Day by Dennis McDougal and Raven: and The Untold Story of the Rev. Jim Jones and His People by Tim Reiterman.

I might try to finish Self Help by Gabby Berstein. I don’t love the subject of the book, but I’m giving the topic a chance since it’s written by her.

I’m also in the middle of two fiction books I would like to finish – My Lovely Wife by Samantha Downing & Dandelion by Jamie Chai Yun Liew.

Most of the book links are affiliate links.

Thinking about your recent experiences and the world over the past month, what has been top-of-mind for you? Select your top three.

  • social justice issues
  • personal finances
  • my health

Pick up to all the things you found comfort in:

  • spending tine with pets
  • reading
  • listening to music
  • spending time outdoors (not as much as I wanted!!)
  • engaging in hobbies and crafts (ditto)
  • watching movies/tv

What books are you reading to bring you comfort?

I don’t usually read for comfort so hard to answer.

Notice any trends in the past month?

Nothing I can think of.

I am never typing out all these questions again. Guess I could create a template and do it monthly. Or maybe make my own monthly reading questionnaire. It’s hard because I don’t notice time so “this past month” won’t work. That’s why I used to post what I’m reading this week b/c that’s easier.

I do track the books I finish. I start too many books to track the ones I don’t finish. So, I will try to do short monthly book questionnaire related to my list of books read. Some months I only finish one book (in April), so not much needed for that.

I’ve finished 19 books this year. Seems like more than I read, but it’s on the list so it must be true. I can’t remember anything!
