Society Wins

Congratulations. Want to kill off weak people? You are. Including myself. I am not calling these people weak! But if you don’t admit that that society would call the people in the following groups weak then…no words.

Research sheds light on what’s killing young people, especially boys and young men from 2021

Overall, about a third of deaths in young people were due to accidents, injuries or conflicts and violence. Another third were from infections, poor nutrition or pregnancy. And the rest were from non-communicable diseases such as cancer or suicide.

Why mortality for young Americans is increasing at an alarming rate

Well, it’s being driven by an increase in death rates in young and middle-aged adults 25 to 64. And most of those relate to the problems of drug overdoses, suicides, alcohol related causes. These are sometimes called deaths of despair, but also cardiometabolic diseases like diabetes and other conditions caused by obesity.

How many people have to die?

Why are we killing them? The death rates in other groups have gone up. I think the young people death rates are most alarming.

People with autism or ADHD are more likely to die early, review says from 2022

The new research found that early mortality – which, in the meta-analysis, was usually death in childhood or by midlife – from natural and unnatural causes was more than two times more likely for both people with autism and those with ADHD than for the general population, said the review’s lead author Ferrán Catalá-López, via email. Natural causes included cardiac events and seizures; unnatural causes included unintentional injuries, suicide and homicide.

Oh, mention homicide and people might listen. But it hasn’t happened yet, so everyone should carry on.
