I have a real entry semi-ready, but I’m so tired. I haven’t been sleeping well during the past 2 months.
Oh self-care? It’s hard to answer this because almost everything can be seen through the lens of self-care. So, if I feel like I MUST do something, I won’t list it here.
How I’ve practiced Self-care – 2023
- Doing yoga – I do about 10 to 15 minutes a day. I could do more, but for some reason, I only can get it done in the morning. I can’t take a long break from work in the morning. I will consider doing a morning and afternoon session but not right now. The jackasses at work won’t let me say namaste.
- Nature/Park – So easy to do with a dog. He loves to walk in nature more than me. How is that possible?? I am lucky. I go to the park for about 2 hours once a week. Since there is nowhere to walk around here (see last long entry), I may go twice a week during the summer.
- Dance Parties. This is new. I used to do it constantly, but I haven’t felt free to dance in about 7 years! I do it for about 30 minutes a day. I don’t track it, and I’m time blind, so I don’t know. My current favorite dance party songs are anything by the Dixie Chicks, A Woman’s Work by Maxwell, and Colors by Halsey. I know these songs are weird for dancing…but #mood.
- Hay House Membership – I don’t know whether I got a sale price. I paid about $60 for a year’s worth of access to HayHouse’s books, meditations, conferences, classes, etc. About 20 to 30% of their stuff falls under toxic positivity., but the other stuff is worth the money. If you love Wayner Dyer and don’t have his books, you’ll love this. They add new books, so I’m not sure how long I will stay. No plans to cancel. I wish they would offer their certifications classes WITHOUT certification, but nope. Most of their classes have nothing to do with a certification.
- Learning – I don’t count my business or work-related stuff here. I’m taking classes on – gardening, yoga etc, I need to make more time for learning for fun.
- Taking supplements – This is kinda a must. I sometimes resent having to spend so much on supplements because those noncaring jackasses ruined my gastro system in 2020 and 2021. DIE. Oh, I’m supposed to be positive because I’m talking about self-care. Sorry. Supplements can be expensive…especially when I can’t swallow pills. I rarely take the full dose. I think I’m spending about $75 a month on supplements.
I’m getting really tired. I only slept 3.5 hours last night, so I shouldn’t be surprised. If I think of something. I will add to this list. I think the main things are listed, but I’m too out of it to think.
