Today was a good day at work…yes there is a ‘but’. They tried to bait me all morning. I knew I had to be humble and not smirk at their behavior. Of course they stopped by midday when they realized I wasn’t going to go crazy. This is good for a Thursday when I’m usually so drained.
The but isn’t about them, it is about the actual work. I thought if I thought of peace and being humble that I would get a ton of work done. Uh, I had a time consuming project so it really looks like a less than typical productive day. ::SCREAM:: That’s okay. That is how the universe works, I guess.

I want to rant about something. However, it’s me being judgmental. I’ll just sum it up: America is not a Christian nation. Do foreigners look at us and laugh at this notion? Or is it just me? I’m reading a book by someone I would judge as a Christian. He puts God FIRST. Sorry, this is so funny to me. I just keep thinking about the people at work who call themselves Christians. 🙂
Okay, so let’s say Christians put God in their top 5. Meaning they think about God everyday, not necessarily FIRST. But they consider God when they make decisions and do things throughout the day. I would say that is about 25% or less of America. If those REAL Christians (sorry) were being judgmental about their religion as I am being right now, they would be embarrassed by the people who call themselves Christians.
But they don’t judge. They know the real judge is their God. Good for them.

Those thoughts won’t serve me. When I think that at work (because they mention God a lot sometimes), I have to remind myself of “peace”. I want to ask, “When you are baiting me, are you being a Christian?” I’ve read the Christian (and Buddhist) Bible and I really don’t understand how they can do something to the crazy girl then call themselves Christian. It’s not my place to judge them but when they are bringing up God in relation to ME (when I don’t believe in Jesus Christ), it gets annoying.
I’m not going to judge them anymore. I just admire the Christians who put god FIRST (or in their top 5 – like T Mobile). I admire their faith. I don’t believe but I can admire.
p.s.
I don’t consider myself a Buddhist. I still have to work on desires, sense of self, meditation etc. I’ll do an entry on it one day instead of judging other people’s religion. 😉
