my $17 thrift spree

Yesterday I spent $17 in my favorite local thrift store. I usually spend at least $40 but I’m trying to organize my closet. I couldn’t justify buying more clothes when my closet is a mess. Besides I really went to look for furniture. They had some nice stuff – tables and dressers…but I couldn’t buy anything because uh, how was I going to get a dresser in the car?? There is no employee help so…

Anyway for $17 I brought:

5 T-shirts*
1 pair of the weirdest jeans I’ll ever wear
1 belt
1 pair of the cutest shoes – I’m in love! (pictured below)
1 purple turtleneck with tags
1 purple flowery (aka hippy) blouse
1 paperback book
1 bag of about 20 assorted ink pens (yes they work! – lol)

Not too bad, right? *My sorta new thing is to stop buying T-shirts. I want to wear more blouses because I’m almost 30 and that’s what I’m supposed to do according to “What Not to Wear”. However, I do need something to wear around the house, when mowing the lawn, going to the gym etc

Here are my ‘new’ favorite pair of shoes:

It is so hard to find flats! I want to start an anti-heel campaign. Anyhow, I’m thinking about sending a pic to Painfully Hip. I’m definitely painful. Not hip. I want to be considered for thrift star of the day. I dunno…I hate trying on clothes even if it is just for something silly.

I’ll post the outfit here if I can actually get motivated enough to put on an all thrift outfit and take a few pics. Maybe I’ll make it or they will confirm that I’m not hip.
